Q & A WITH LEONORE CAULTON-DOWNEY

Lenore Caulton-Downey

Name: Lenore Caulton-Downey

Age: I am 62 years old.

Career:  I am a private makeup – artist.

Where do you live? Plano, Texas

How do you define beauty? Beauty is the manifestation of the joy within your soul that shows itself to your outer body.

When you think about aging what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? Beauty is the manifestation of the joy within your soul that shows itself to your outer body.

How have you embraced aging? Aging is a present that if you are fortunate enough to experience, is all powerful.

What advice would you give to your 21-year old self, with regards to aging? I have no advice for my 21 year old self on aging as we are still the same girl. I embrace every aspect of aging even those I have no personal control over. I am vegan, I work out, I love hard and I enjoy every day to the fullest.
I feel I am doing my part to cherish the temple I have been given by my creator.

Do you have a favorite beauty product? What is it and why?  My favorite beauty product is Lumify by Basch and Lomb.  I have horrible allergies here in Dallas and this product does exactly as advertised (so unusual). Amazingly, it takes the red out in 60 seconds and I mean all the red out and lasts for 8 hours.  I use it on my clients and they are astounded.  I call it my party trick.

What are you reading right now, or the last book you read? I am currently reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I am only halfway through and I can’t believe I am just now reading this treasured story of becoming one’s personal legend.

What do you do to relax? I am a very relaxed person.  I start my day by taking 5 minutes after I wake up to review how I want my day to be. When I have finished all my missions of my day I like to meditate for 20 minutes on what joys are to come.

Any final words? After years of news overload and confrontational outburst to talking heads on television, this past June I just stopped.  I began to ingest only 15 minutes of what is going on and none of the personal opinions of what is going on.  I started reading erotica and found these endless stories of passion and love were far more enriching than futile discussions of politics. I have always been a forward-looking person and I believe it has helped me to accept the now and not fear the unknown. If there is one thing I have learned and embraced during my journey in this life, it is that “what is for you will never go by you.”

I love this Lady!  Sometimes people come along in your life and have such a profound impact on you.

Lenore has been such an Inspiration to me, her family embraced me immediately, I will always be grateful.

Not only did she teach me about my craft, including the business side of it, and gave me one of my first jobs in Dallas, Texas.

I’ve carried some of the life lessons she shared with me throughout my lifetime.

She deeply touched my heart and soul in so many ways.
